Wiggin Auditorium is located inside historic Peabody City Hall at 24 Lowell Street.

City Hall was dedicated in 1883, and its large auditorium became an important location for public gatherings, performances and civic functions.

Historically, the grand auditorium was sometimes referred to as Peabody’s Opera House.

After a major restoration, the auditorium was renamed in 1980 in honor of former Peabody Councillor Frank L. Wiggin.
