Samuel J. Favazza, 83, of Gloucester, MA, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2025. A Gloucester native and Gloucester High School graduate, Sam served as a Military Policeman in the United States Army. He enjoyed managing a live bait business in California, collecting classic movies, and dining out.

Sam is survived by his brother Peter Favazza Jr. and fiancé Carol Bourgault, sister-in-law Phyllis Kennedy, niece Mary Jane Favazza and wife Julie Hoebelheinrich, nephew Peter Favazza III and wife Aaron Stewart Favazza, great-nephews Finn, Nico, and Peter IV, and uncle Robert Stone and his daughters. He was predeceased by his sister, Mary Jane Favazza.

Visitation: Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 5:00–7:00 PM at Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester, MA 01930. Burial is private.

Beatrice B. "Bea" Waring Obituary – Rockport, MA

Beatrice (Shopp) Waring, 95, of Rockport, MA, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2025. Bea was Miss Minnesota and the first from Minnesota crowned Miss America in 1948. She graduated from the Manhattan School of Music and actively supported the Miss America Organization for 78 years, including touring with the USO in Afghanistan.

She married Bayard Waring, raised four daughters, ran the Spinning Wheel Inn in Connecticut, and later moved to Rockport, MA. Bea was a lay minister at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, chaired the Gloucester Stage board, played percussion in the Cape Ann Symphony, and sang in "Share the Music."
