Craig S. Walker (1962–2025)
Craig S. Walker, a longtime Saugus resident, passed away at age 63 after a lengthy illness at Tufts Medical Center. Born in Everett and raised in Chelsea, Craig was a standout basketball player at Chelsea High School—so accomplished that “Craig Walker Day” was named in his honor. He went on to earn a Criminal Justice degree at the University of Tennessee-Martin, where he also played basketball and formed lifelong friendships.
Craig worked for many years as a driver for Everett Taxi, DMI Printing, and Uber. He was known for his love of cooking, especially his famous collard greens and black-eyed peas, and for his generosity toward friends, family, and neighbors. A devoted New England sports fan and fisherman, Craig will be dearly missed by all who knew him—and by his beloved cat, Houdini.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Caggiano; daughter, Erika; sister Leslie and her husband James Stewart of New Hampshire; brother Bryan Walker of Malden; sister Toni Talbot of Fall River; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family. He was predeceased by his parents, James Walker and Diane Talbot, and brothers Doyle and Robert “Bob.”

Lawrence G. “Larry” Cotter (1946–2025)
Lawrence G. “Larry” Cotter, age 78, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House surrounded by family and friends. Born in Lynn and a lifelong resident of Saugus, Larry was the son of the late Alfred and Alice (Decareau) Cotter and was predeceased by his sister, Betty Cotter.
He is fondly remembered by his brother Randy, his friend Tom, cousins, nephews, niece, neighbors, and many associates. Larry attended Saugus High School, where he was a proud member of the marching band. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Army and served honorably in Vietnam, earning numerous distinctions including the Bronze Star Medal with Valor, Combat Infantryman Badge, Good Conduct Medal, and several campaign awards.
Following his military service, Larry worked as a licensed pipe fitter at G.E. in Lynn, Massachusetts, until his retirement. He was an avid Harley rider who loved the open road, the races at Laconia Speedway, and snowmobiling through New England’s trails. Larry will be remembered for his quick wit, honesty, and his trademark blunt but endearing humor.

Donna M. Puopolo (1971–2025)
Donna M. Puopolo, age 54 (though she would have proudly said 27), of Revere, passed away unexpectedly on October 9, 2025, at her home in Spencer. Born in Boston and raised in Revere, Donna was the beloved daughter of the late John and Donna (Grushey) Puopolo and sister of the late John Puopolo.
Donna had a remarkable ability to find beauty and joy in everyday life. She expressed her creativity through crocheting, painting, coloring, and crafts, and her infectious humor could light up any room. She loved to laugh and, even more, to make others laugh. Above all, her love for her family defined her — her grandchildren were truly the light of her life and the song of her soul.
She is survived by her children: Nina Russo of Chelsea, Robert Rose of Revere, and Alexander Tirado of Lynn; and her fiancé, Gary Fusco. Donna will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to know her.

Carmella (Ciampa) Mersicano (1937–2025)
Carmella (Ciampa) Mersicano, age 88, passed away on Thursday evening at Advocate Healthcare in East Boston. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank Mersicano.
Born in Winthrop and raised in Revere, Carmella was the daughter of the late Frank and Josephine (Lukosi) Ciampa. A longtime resident of Saugus, she worked for many years as a bank teller and later as a cashier at the Hilltop Restaurant. Above all, she was a devoted homemaker whose family was the heart of her life.
She is survived by her three children: John Mersicano of Saugus, Maria Turchi and her husband Dana of Bradford, and Michele Mersicano of Saugus; as well as three cherished grandchildren — Leah, Olivia, and Lukas. She also leaves behind her brother Joseph Ciampa and his wife Claire of Milton. Carmella will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
